Positioned on a fantastic elevated plot, this sensationally designed and exceptionally refurbished detached property stands distinctly modern against the rural village backdrop of Bromham.
Since purchase in 2018, the owners have transformed it from top to bottom, including highly effective extensions to add the hall, to enlarge the lounge, and to produce the phenomenal open plan area.

Almost everything is brand new, from big undertakings such as plumbing and electrics, to decorative elements such as tiling and woodwork. One thing that remains is some of the original brickwork, bringing character to the home, and blending well with the crisp, white rendering.

Mr owns a double glazing business, and you can see how this has affected the level of the windows installed—large roof lights to the rear, two sets of striking Crittal doors onto the garden, wide windows to the bedrooms, and the huge window bringing sunshine galore into the entrance hall.

You’ll be as surprised as us to find out Mrs isn’t an interior designer, because her individually selected décor and furnishings are sublime. Every light fitting is so perfectly suited to its setting that it’s hard to choose a favourite.
We do know where our favourite part of the house is though: the open plan kitchen/dining/family room. It’s where the family does the most ‘living’ in the home, and we can see why. The vastness of space and the volume of light are immense.

The kitchen is really quite something. The cabinetry is original, unique, not just in style, but in layout. Concrete effect and rose gold-edged units are all set under a massive quartz-topped island, leaving walls clear and eliminating any feeling of confinement. Integrated appliances include two ovens, a hob and a dishwasher. The inset wide Blanco sink has a boiling water tap and an insinkerator, and has filtered water.
There are three additional areas joining the kitchen, each with its own purpose. The utility has storage, a second sink, plus space for a washing machine and tumble dryer. The incredible pantry is like having your very own store, with extensive shelving, quartz tops, and sockets for small appliances like a coffee machine and toaster, further helping to keep the island clear and tidy. And secreted under the solid oak staircase is the wine vault!

To the front of the house, there are two reception rooms. The lounge is spacious yet cosy, and through a door here is the playroom/office. Another option for work or play is the summerhouse. Although currently a gym, there’s heating, power, lighting, insulation and carpeting, making it a versatile, all-seasons addition.
Upstairs are three bedrooms, with the fourth converted into a fully fitted dressing room. With an opening from the master and a connecting door to the hall, this would be a great nursery or could be swapped back to a sizeable bedroom/office if preferred. Both the en suite and bathroom have gorgeous contemporary suites with chrome fixtures and porcelain flooring. There’s a freestanding clawfoot bath and a walk-in shower to the bathroom, and the en suite has a double walk-in shower.

Regarding the plot, the frontage is predominantly gravelled for parking, with a ‘VIP’ parking spot to the front of the integral garden. There’s ample capacity to construct a double if not triple garage if desired. The grand walled entrance has scope to add gates, for that extra security for cars.
A side passageway leads to the landscaped rear garden. Laid out in a quattro of zones, there’s the full-width porcelain patio that catches the last of the day’s sun, the immaculate and expansive lawn, the raised deck under the tremendous fir tree, and lastly is the secondary patio, where there are provisions to create an outdoor kitchen/dedicated barbeque area.
