Generously sized, immaculately presented and conveniently situated, this detached home in a quiet position epitomises ultimate family living, with the advantage of a driveway and a double garage.
Residing in Bedfordshire all their lives, they’ve found a forever location in Clapham. Moving from one end of the development to here, they haven’t strayed far, and they’re hoping to stay in the area they love so much.

The village is encircled by fields, with the River Great Ouse to the south and playparks dotted around, one of which is just behind the house. Ideal for families, ample amenities are within easy reach, there’s a nursery, a pre-school and Ursula Taylor lower school in Clapham, and Lincroft Academy upper school is in neighbouring Oakley.

Both Mr and Mrs work in Milton Keynes, and they’re able to drive “straight up the A422” to get there, as well as to everything the City has to offer. By train, Bedford is the closest, only 15 minutes by bike and under 10 minutes by car. There’s loads to do in Bedford, with riverside walks, popular parks, cinemas, sports and leisure, plus an array of cafés and restaurants.

The address itself in a residential location has little through traffic, and one of the things the owners have appreciated as a family is being able to shut the gates from the road to the garden for a true sense of privacy, making the plot more secure for kids and for cars and bikes. The block-paved driveway affords parking for many vehicles, and the double garage grants extra parking, copious storage, or a workshop space set away from the house for peaceful tinkering.

Initially, the property attracted them because it was in good condition, not a project they needed to commit to, and “about 15 times bigger” than where they were moving from. Coming into the hall, there’s a reception room to each side, a cloakroom to the end, and an understairs cupboard. The property has had new flooring throughout, including soft carpeting, Karndean wood-effect laminate in the hall, and Karndean stone-effect tiles in the kitchen/dining.

The lounge to the left is triple aspect, and shutters are on order for the windows. French doors open out onto the garden for bringing the outdoors in on warm and/or sunny days. The playroom to the right has built-in cupboards providing huge amounts of storage, and the dimensions lend well as a home office or even a fifth bedroom.

Mrs says her favourite part is the kitchen/dining room. They removed a wall to create open plan space, and added a doorway to introduce easy flow around the rooms. A small but significant change is the glazed internal doors, allowing light to travel through. The kitchen is fitted in gorgeous taupe gloss cabinetry with black quartz worktops and a curved-edge breakfast bar peninsula. There’s lots of storage, integrated Neff ovens, a Neff induction hob with feature extractor, plus openings for further appliances. The dining area has plenty of room for a large table, and the adjoining utility has surplus storage and openings for further appliances.

Upstairs, size is again evident, with three generous double bedrooms, a good-sized single and a spacious family bathroom. The dual aspect master has a dressing area with built-in wardrobes, and a stunning en suite with double shower. We love the trio of tile styles in here! The landing has a hatch to the loft, which is “fuller than you could possibly imagine”, highlighting the level of storage available. This could potentially be converted to add more accommodation if needed (subject to planning). To incorporate eco credentials, the south-facing frontage is prime for solar panels.

When asking their eldest son what his favourite part of his house is, he tells us he likes the garden best, because “every summer we play”. This summer, you could be here enjoying the sunshine, the space and the surroundings yourself…
