Full Details

Living in Lavendon doesn’t get much better than at this fully refurbished, greatly extended family home, set on a sizeable corner plot with a generous garden, integral garage and multi-car driveway.

From a chalet bungalow to a beautiful abode, the renovation began at the tail end of 2022. A talented local builder has paid huge attention to detail throughout the property, showcasing grand spaces and stylish interiors. In untouched condition, its all brand new here, from windows and doors, to lighting and floors.

Classic blends perfectly with contemporary, with a brick, rendered and clad exterior, and features such as herringbone flooring to the downstairs, and oak internal doors with brushed gold handles throughout. There’s been much focus on natural light, with lots of windows drawing in sunshine, a roof lantern for flooding the kitchen in light, and glazed doors allowing brightness to travel through the house.

The wraparound extensions have increased the accommodation, offering vast, open rooms ideal for hosting the whole family. The layout at the back is particularly flexible, with options for both dining and snug areas. There’s seamless transition from cooking in the kitchen into dining at the table into drinks on the sofa, or in the garden via French doors onto the patio.

The kitchen is fitted in a gorgeous range of light-grey cabinetry with veined quartz surfaces, and the footprint affords space for a central island and breakfast bar seating if desired. There’s a Franke stainless steel sink, a Lamona double oven and separate hob, plus gaps for a dishwasher and a fridge/freezer. The adjoining utility has the same cabinetry, marble-effect laminate surfaces, a Lamona composite sink, and gaps for further appliances, keeping laundry out of sight, and washing and drying out of earshot. There’s also a door into the garage from here.

To the front is the very large lounge, where bi-fold doors bring the outdoors in. A versatile room off the lounge is handy as a cosy playroom for the children, or a tucked-away office for homeworkers (there’s Cat-5 cabling throughout the home too). The cloakroom is by the front door, and there’s an understairs alcove in the hall that could be fitted with cupboards for hiding boots and bags away.

Upstairs, every bedroom is at least a double, each with capacity for fitted wardrobes. One has an en suite, while the remaining three share the family bathroom. The bedroom spanning the full depth of the house has its own convenient door into the bathroom. Views from the first floor reach over to surrounding countryside, reminding you of the rural position.

Coming outside into the garden, there’s plenty of room to roam, and loads of opportunity to landscape if preferred. The substantial lawn extends to two sides of the house, and there’s a patio from the open plan living area at the rear. Enclosed by fencing to all sides, tall hedging and trellis would add a higher degree of seclusion. To the front, the driveway provides private parking for multiple members of the family, and the garage for another car if needed. There’s cabling in place for an EV charger too.

The setting of the property is peaceful, undoubtedly in a quiet village. Lavendon is one of our favourite locations, and this community is one we call home. Getting out and about in nature with family and four-legged friends is instant, and the Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ primary school, two pubs and local shop are only mere minutes away on foot. The charming market town of Olney is on the doorstep, the comprehensive centre of Milton Keynes is a short drive, and London is easily commutable from both Bedford and Milton Keynes mainline stations.
